Dear survey participants,
The Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFUVET) and the University of Bern are conducting a study as part of the National Support Program 80, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, to investigate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on vocational education and training in Switzerland (COVET study). The aim of the research project is therefore to investigate at what different levels and in what way the Covid-19 pandemic has influenced vocational education and training.
One focus of the COVET research project relates to the analysis of differences between occupational fields and regions with regard to the training process of VET learners in different apprenticeships. In order to investigate possible changes in the training process in apprenticeships, we will survey more than 4,000 training companies in German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland in spring 2024.
The questionnaire is aimed at employees who were involved in the training of apprentices before, during and after the pandemic (March 2020 - April 2022).
Your experience and expertise as a vocational trainer are of great importance to us. We would like to learn from you how you perceived the training processes (recruitment, supervision of apprentices, acquired knowledge, etc.) during the COVID-19 pandemic in your company and in your industry.
Your expertise will help to address the relevant topics of basic vocational education and training processes that were of great importance during the pandemic in our project. With the findings from the survey of training companies, the COVET research project is making an important contribution to systematically collecting and evaluating experiences and any adjustments to training processes in companies and making the results accessible to practitioners. This strengthens vocational education and training and provides knowledge for overcoming future crises.
